Encounters and Exchange

In various formats of discussion and encounter, topics that concern, challenge and connect us will also take place beyond the stage. "Dance and Crisis", "Dance and Society", "Dance and Transformation" – together we want to negotiate our (own) mode of crisis, reflect on the past two (pandemic) years as not only a collective experience and trace its difficulties and opportunities. We would like to ask ourselves how dance can act politically as a social practice, how we can recognise and overcome our own (unconscious) discriminatory and exclusionary mechanisms, how dance can become part of an overarching social transformation - towards a sustainable vision of the future.

On three mornings during Tanzplattform, tak Theatre will be a place of exchange between Berlin and international stake holders, guests of Tanzplattform, the audience, the jury and the artists.

Moreover, the audience can expect Late Night Moves with Olympia Bukkakis, artist/audience discussions and the encounter format Never Walk Alone at the festival's various venues.

Be my Guest – International artists' meeting

On the occasion of the Tanzplattform 2022 we organize an international artists' meeting in Berlin. By invitation of the Goethe–Institut and HAU eight artists working in the field of dance & choreography from different continents are given the opportunity to exchange and network with the German scene and the artists of the Tanzplattform. The meeting will be focusing on dialogue and participation in cultures and structures. We create a space for new perspectives and points of view in international and intersectional cooperation.

A cooperation of HAU Hebbel am Ufer and Goethe-Institut.
